String – the Musical

String – the Musical is a brand new, specially-commissioned musical set in Hailsham and the surrounding area and is probably the most ambitious project the festival has undertaken in its 15 year history.

Following last year’s triumphant Showcase Concert of songs from the show with Roger McGough as narrator, this fully staged production of String – the Musical will return on October 7th and 8th, 2022 as part of Hailsham Festival Extra

John Bowler has appeared in many notable Theatre productions including A Patriot and Me at the RSC, and the critically acclaimed Popcorn UK Tour. John’s numerous Television credits include DCI Banks, WPC56, Casualty, and a long running character in The Bill.

The creative team includes Brighton-based writer and lyricist, Stephen Plaice, one of Britain’s leading librettists and writers for Music Theatre. The music is by Tony Biggin, a popular and successful composer who lives in Hailsham.
