In partnership with Crossing The Screen – 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival, Film Sussex invites filmmakers to take part in an exciting creative challenge:

Make a film in just one weekend… and see it on the big screen.

📅 Challenge Dates: 24–26 April 2026
📍 Location: Sussex

How it works:

  • Friday 24 April, 9:00 PM – Receive your mandatory elements
  • Sunday 26 April, 11:59 PM – Deadline to upload your completed film

🎥 The Rules:

  • Films must be shot entirely in Sussex
  • Must include all mandatory elements
  • Maximum runtime: 5 minutes
  • Created within the challenge weekend

🏆 What’s at stake:

  • Top 20 films will be screened at Crossing The Screen
    🗓 Thursday 7 May, 6:00 PM
    📍 Hailsham Pavilion
  • Each selected team receives 4 screening tickets
  • Winning film advances to the Made in Sussex Film Festival 2027
    – Competing for Best Director (last year’s prize: £10,000)
