Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense
By The Goodale Brothers – Adapted from the works of P.G. Wodehouse
When a country house weekend takes a turn for the worse, Bertie Wooster is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker – reconciling the affections of his host’s drippy daughter Madeline Bassett with his newt-fancying acquaintance Gussie Fink-Nottle. If Bertie, ably assisted by the ever-dependable Jeeves, can’t pull off the wedding of the season he’ll be forced to abandon his cherished bachelor status and marry the ghastly girl himself!
This new production brings classic Wodehouse wit to Hailsham Festival. Tally-ho!
Presented by The Grove Theatre, Eastbourne.
“As one of the show’s creators – and having performed in it myself – I’ve seen countless productions of Perfect Nonsense. You’d think I might be jaded by now, but I laughed all the way through tonight. Nuanced, delightful performances. Some truly lovely work.”
— Robert Goodale, co-creator of Perfect Nonsense
